Bird Cage Lanterns

These bird cage latterns are so beautiful! I found them when I was randomly bouncing from one blog to another. I luckily stumbled upon The Bride's Cafe!

While I'm not getting married (I don't think my husband would appreciate that!), there are so many gorgeous ideas that could be used in my home, or for special occasions. I think I'm going to make some of these latterns for my daughter's room.

The list of projects I want to do just keeps growing, and growing!!

Mod Podge to the Rescue

Living in southern california, I wear flip flops pretty much year round. So I was really excited when I found this super cute pair at Ross for only $15!

Then I went to wear them for the first time...

They have that really soft texture that I think is supposed to be faux suede. At first you think "Ooh, nice!" Then after about, hmmm, 5 minutes you think "Ooh, not so nice... Ouch!"

So the other night I was working on some project or other, using Mod Podge, when it hit me... I could Mod Podge the under side of the strap and it would change the texture!

It totally worked!! Now, I can wear my cute, sparkly flip flops without the not-so-cute blisters!

Mod Podge to the rescue... Yay!

Paper Fortune Cookies

These paper fortune cookies from For the Love of Paper are so cute! How fun would it be to have containers placed around the room for a party? Talk about great conversation starters!

Unique Book Art

One of my favorite blogs is Dude Craft.... he finds some of the coolest art! I keep going back and looking at this book origami done by Isaac Salazar.

I really want a book done like this for my living room. It's so unique and unexpected! We have a painting of the ocean above one of the couches, and I think it would be awesome to find a hard cover copy of something like Moby Dick, and do a nautical word. Hmmm, maybe one day...

Collage Charms

I have to make one of these. It's not a want, it's a need!

I found these amazing charms at Cathie Filian, where she gives a complete tutorial! In case you can't tell from the pic, the charms are actually scrapped. Miniature scrapbooking, I love it!! I foresee a trip to Michaels for supplies in the very near future. I already have the perfect picture all picked out!
